The poem water is written by Challapalli Saroopa Rani wherein the poem majorly highlights the gender discrimination which was found during her time.

Water is one of the most important things for a living being. Yes, it has been a matter of discrimination disparity and dispute for many years. Water is instrumental in social injustice and witnessed many things.

Water knows the ground's incline. Finally it witness the difference between wada and the village. It knows the difference in race between Samarian women and the Jesus. It also known the difference between leather and spool. It witness the agony of Panchama who had no rights to draw a pot of water from the well and had to wait for the Shudras to arrive. This is because during the early times, the untouchables or panchamas were not allowed to touch the water. This used to happen when the varna system was in practice during early times. Water knows the humiliation on wada girl on whom water was thrown from a distance, if it fell all over he and touched her. In addition to this water witnessed the righteous rage of Karamchudu Suvarthamma, who opposed the Kamma landlords who told her not to pollute the water. Moreover, water witness many social injustices. In addition water witnessed many movements like the Mahad struggle at Chadar tank. People fought many battles for a single drop of water which shed tears for centuries and were not successful and did not get a small puddle of water. Unfortunately, the poor people are nothing but the playthings in the hands of water. It can give life and also devour lives. It make the blood run into streams. Not only it makes the village desert but also it floods and drowns the whole village. It also witnessed how Malapalle was burnt to ashes.

Moreover, water is still being a matter of dispute in many states and might continue for generations. Thus the water is instrumental in social discrimination and disparity.
